Women’s Training Day

Free Opening Event from 9:00 – 11:00 

Led by Beth Alcazar. This course empowers women with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves in a variety of situations. You’ll learn how to be the “wrong” person for an attacker to target by developing a survivor mindset and establishing strong personal boundaries. We’ll cover the color codes of awareness and the critical strategies of avoiding, escaping, and defending. The course also explores the use of force, and we’ll discuss other self-defense options helping you choose the best tools to keep yourself safe. Please view the courses below or click here for more information.

This session provided practical, real-world strategies for managing confrontation, taught by a skilled martial arts instructor. You’ll learn simple, effective principles for protecting yourself, without needing strength, speed, or prior experience.

Explore your creative side in this unique hands-on session led by a world-class engraver renowned for exceptional work on firearms and jewelry. You’ll get an introduction to professional engraving tools, learn the basics of metal design, and have the chance to apply your own artistic touch. Every participant will also take home a special laser–engraved souvenir from the class.

Step into a hands-on, confidence‑building session designed to help women manage real‑world medical emergencies with calm and clarity. Beyond the Band‑Aid goes further than basic first aid—this class empowers you with practical skills to recognize and respond to common injuries, sudden illnesses, and unexpected situations before professional help arrives.

You’ll learn how to assess a patient, control bleeding, manage fractures and sprains, identify life‑threatening conditions, and provide effective care using everyday tools and simple techniques. No prior medical experience is needed—just a willingness to learn in a supportive, encouraging environment.

This 90-minute session makes learning easy, approachable, and fun! You’ll explore the universal safety rules, gain a clear understanding of basic handgun terminology, and enjoy hands-on training in safe firearm handling and operation. Whether you’ve always been curious about handguns or you’re ready to trade hesitation for confidence, this class is the perfect first step. It’s a comfortable, encouraging environment to ask questions, build foundational skills and take your first shots with knowledge, control, and courage.

Discover a stronger sense of readiness with Beyond the Basics session, an intentionally designed women’s defensive handgun experience for those who want to elevate defensive handgun skills with confidence and clarity.  

You will dive deeper into the real-world principles behind responsible armed self-defense. This class emphasizes understanding the “why” behind defensive choices, strengthening safe firearm-handling habits, and developing more efficient techniques for managing your handgun. You’ll explore topics such as lawful use of deadly force, practical considerations for defensive carry, and the essentials of drawing from a holster or concealment.

Refunds: No refunds will be made for classes with a self-supporting (SS) designation. Self-supporting classes are non-refundable except in the case of cancellation by Montgomery Community College. Classes without a self-supporting designation are eligible for a full refund if the registrant withdraws prior to the class start date.
